Hey my loves!!
How has your day been? I have a little update for you about where I'm at and where I've been and it's at the very end of this post!! So make sure you read all the way because I've planned to make some changes around here! Anyways, I'm finally back here today with a new tutorial! I feel like this look is perfect for a first date because it is SO simple yet so pretty at the same time. Plus it doesn't involve lashes and is perfect for beginners haha! Let's get started!!

first date or date night makeup tutorial

Here's what you'll need:

Warm matte brown eyeshadow
Shimmery bronze eyeshadow
Shimmery rose gold/gold eyeshadow
Matte black eyeshadow
Nude eyeliner pencil
Mascara

Step 1
Blend the matte brown shadow all over your mobile eyelids and into your crease.

easy smokey eyes tutorial

Step 2
Pat the bronze eyeshadow onto your mobile eyelids and blend the edges in the crease.

Step 3
Using a small detail brush or an angled brush, line your upper lashline with the matte black eyeshadow. The reason I recommend you line with eyeshadow and not liquid or gel eyeliner for this look is because lining with eyeshadow adds beautiful soft definition and only requires minimal blending!

makeup looks for date night

Step 4
Blend the same matte brown eyeshadow you used in the crease all along your lower lashline and then, line your lower waterline with a nude eye pencil.

Step 5
Next, tap some shimmery rose gold eyeshadow on the center of your eyelids and also apply it into the inner corners of your eyes with a smaller brush or your finger.

glowy makeup

Step 6
If you feel like the previous step messed up your liner, you can now go back in with a little more black eyeshadow to intensify your liner. Curl your lashes, apply mascara and you're done loves!! Scroll down for the full pictorial, products used list and my little update!

Update, WHERE have I been!?
So guys, on the very first of January I uploaded a Sultry Glittery cut crease look and then a week later, I reviewed the Colourpop Makeup Your Mind Palette but soon after that, I decided to take a little mental health break because I was just feeling so overwhelmed with work and blogging. It was meant to only be a week long but somehow an entire month went by where I didn't do any tutorials or reviews on here and I ended up getting quite busy with my Art/Painting business for most of January as well.

But guys! I've decided that I want to do more video tutorials than pictorials and I also have a new set up in mind. Hopefully it will work out the way I want it to haha. Videos take an absolute lifetime to film and edit but I'm excited about it! Hopefully you guys will find the videos to be more helpful than the pictorials because you can see the steps in real time. I will be uploading the tutorials on my Youtube guys so please subscribe!! The channel name's The Veiled Artist just like with this blog and all my social medias. And I hope you guys are as excited as I am about it!
Take care my loves,
Zaha.

Fun and Easy Yellow Smokey Eyes with a pop of blue Tutorial

Hey my loves!
How has your week been? I just wanted to thank everyone once again for the immense love all of you showed me after I released my last post! I was so anxious about sharing it but I'm so glad I did! (You can read it here if you have no idea what I'm talking about!)
Today, I am here with a bright and colourful tutorial because I have been feeling quite grey and the weather here in Srilanka has been very 'blah' too. So I wanted to do a look that just felt alive haha! So let's get started!

Fun and Easy Yellow Smokey Eyes with a pop of blue tutorial : The Veiled Artist

Here's what you'll need:

Matte peach eyeshadow
Shimmery/matte yellow eyeshadow
Matte brown eyeshadow
Shimmery silver eyeshadow
Light blue pencil/gel liner
Black liner(liquid/gel)
Mascara
Falsies(optional)

Step 1
Blend the matte peach shade into your crease and a little above it.

easy smokey eyes tutorial

Step 2
Next, apply the yellow eyeshadow onto the inner half of your mobile eyelids as shown below and blend the edges into your crease.

smokey eyes tutorial for beginners

Step 3
Blend the matte brown eyeshadow into the outer half of your eyelids in a smokey C shape and also blend it into the yellow we applied in the previous step.

step by step smokey eyes tutorial

Step 4
Now, blend the same peachy pink shade you used in the crease all along your lower lashline, connecting it with the brown eyeshadow on the outer corners.

makeup for green eyes

Step 5
Apply the shimmery silver eyeshadow into the inner corners of your eyes, blending it into the peach on the lower lashline and yellow on the eyelids.

Step 6
Next, line your lower waterline with a blue pencil liner or gel liner. If you have neither, you can apply some matte blue eyeshadow onto your lower waterline using a small detail brush and this works just as well! If you find that the shadows aren't adhering to your lower waterline because it is too wet, you can try running a q-tip along your lower waterline before applying the shadow!!

makeup for brown eyes summer makeup

Step 7
Do some winged liner, curl your lashes and apply mascara. You could totally be done with this look here if you don't love the feel of falsies!

colourful makeup and eyeshadow tutorial

Step 8
But I decided to add some nice wispy lashes. I used the Huda beauty lashes in Samantha as they are not too full and allow all of the shadow work we did to show through.
That's it loves! Literally the easiest tutorial ever haha! Scroll down to see the full pictorial and products used list!

Black Glitter Smokey Eyes Tutorial + Where have I been

Hey my loves!
WOW. I don't think I can put into words how good it feels to be back! I've missed blogging SOO much! I have so many tutorial ideas and I have also been testing out a lot of new products to review! If you don't follow me on instagram, then you probably didn't even know I was going to take a break in the first place but the break wasn't because I was tired of blogging haha! I'm never tired of this! I took almost three weeks to a month off because I was starting a new business. I just launched it a few days ago and haven't told ANYONE about it yet! LOL it has a very small following because I JUST started! But this is an idea I have had in my mind for a very long time and a dream job almost, so I decided I was finally going to invest time, money and hope into it and see what comes of it! Because if for some reason it doesn't work out, I'll still be so content knowing that I tried! And I won't have to deal with a 'what if?'

black smokey eyes with glitter tutorial

So! That's where I have been and I'm thinking, maybe I will tell you all more about this in a few weeks but for now, let's talk about my other passion. MAKEUP! Today's post isn't going to be my usual step by step pictorial but I am going to guide you through the exact steps that I did to achieve this gorgeous black, glitter smokey eyes look! My next tutorial however, is going to be a step by step tutorial, just like old times! So let's get started my loves!

Here's what you'll need:

Black primer/black cream shadow or creamy black pencil liner
Matte warm brown eyeshadow
Matte deep brown/taupe eyeshadow
Matte black eyeshadow
Gold/Champagne or silver glitter
Shimmery Champagne eyeshadow
Eyeliner(liquid/gel)
Black pencil liner
Mascara
Falsies

Step 1
Blend the warm brown eyeshadow into your crease and a little above it. This will serve as your transition shade and help blend the rest of the shadows.

Step 2
Using a black eyeshadow primer, a black pencil or a dark cream base, prime your mobile eyelids. This will help us achieve that rich intense black we're all after!

Step 3
Now, blend the deep brown eyeshadow into your crease and also use it to blend the edges of the black primer we just used.

Step 4
Pat and blend a matte black eyeshadow all over your mobile eyelids and into your crease.

Step 5
Apply a light layer of glitter glue onto your eyelids and pat the loose glitter onto this area.

Step 6
While that dries, you can now line your lower waterline with a black pencil liner and then blend the warm brown shadow we used in step 1 all along your lower lashline.

black smokey eyes for beginners

Step 7
Using a small detailed brush or even your fingers, pop some of that shimmery champagne shade into the inner corners of your eyes and blend it out.

Step 8
Do your winged liner. I also decided to extend the liner into the inner corners for a fierce arabic look.

Step 9
Curl your lashes and apply mascara to your top and bottom lashes.

Step 10
Pop on a nice dramatic pair of falsies and you're done love!! Scroll down to see exactly what I used to achieve this look!

Dramatic Pink and Red Glitter Smokey Eyes with a Pop Tutorial

Hey my beautiful people,
How has your week been? Mine has been busy!! I created this super dramatic look with Arabian makeup inspired liner and glitter and HUGE lashes about a week and half ago and have been trying to get this tutorial up since! Now that I finally found the time, let's not wait any longer! Let's get started!

Dramatic Pink and Red Glitter Smokey Eyes with a Pop Tutorial: The Veiled Artist

Here's what you'll need:

Peach/Warm brown matte eyeshadow
Shimmery pink eyeshadow
Matte black eyeshadow
Turquoise pencil or gel liner
White shimmery eyeshadow
Black Liquid/Gel liner
Falsies

Dramatic glitter smokey eyes

Step 1
Blend the warm brown or peach eyeshadow into your crease and a little above it. I completely forgot to take a photo of this step, simply fluff some shadow in your crease as this will serve as our transition shade and make the next shadow blend easier.

Step 2
Pat and apply the shimmery pink eyeshadow all over your mobile eyelids and blend the top edges into the brown we previously applied.

pink shimmery smokey eyes

Step 3
Blend the matte black eyeshadow into the outer half of your eyelids in a C shape and blend it into the pink shadow as well.

beginner friendly eyeshadow tutorial

Step 4
Blend the same peach/warm brown eyeshadow you used in your crease, all along your lower lashline.

pink and red glitter smokey eyes

Step 5
Next, pick up the smallest amount of black eyeshadow and blend it right above the shadow we just applied on the lower lash line. You can use a deep brown if you are afraid that the black shadow will not blend easily.

dramatic but easy to follow makeup

Step 6
I love this step! Apply the turquoise/teal or any bright coloured eyeliner onto your lower waterline.

step by step eyeshadow tutorial

Step 7
Do your winged liner, curl your lashes and apply mascara.

makeup for brown eyes

Step 8
Apply the shimmery white eyeshadow into the inner corners of your eyes and blend it into the shadows on your eyelids and the shadows on your lower lashline.

makeup revolution eyeshadow palette

Step 9
Next, draw a line towards your inner corner extending it slightly as shown below, then, connect this line to your lower waterline. You can follow the natural shape of your upper lashline to make sure you get this inner corner wing even on both eyes.

arabic makeup inspired eyeliner

Step 10
Now for the fun part! Apply your glitter adhesive in a half moon shape to the center of your eyelids and then pack the glitter on until it is opaque enough. If you are using pressed glitter or even a glitter liner, this step will be a lot easier than it looks. I used the Violet Voss loose glitter and I had glitter all over my face AND my bed when I was done haha.

arabic eyeliner tutorial

Step 11
If you have any glitter fall out on your lashes, you can simply flick it away with a spoolie or lash comb.

Step 12
Now, apply your falsies. And you're done loves! Scroll down for the full list of products used as well as a full pictorial!
