How has your day been? Before I start today's post, I want to thank all of you for all the love I received on my last tutorial, especially on instagram! I will be making a mental note to try more looks that are far from my comfort zone because that's what I did with this tutorial and all of you loved it!! I am here today with a full, honest review of the super affordable, Yes to Tomatoes Detoxifying Charcoal Cleanser that I tried recently so let's get started!

What Yes To claims..
A deeply purifying cleanser that reduces imperfections and blemishes from the complexion and is suitable for problem skin types. Formulated to remove dirt, grime and excess sebum from the pores, Tomatoes Detoxifying Charcoal Cleanser provides a fresh, clear finish for the skin. Thick and creamy in texture, this paraben-free facial cleanser helps to prevent the development of new break-outs whilst diminishing the appearance of redness and irritation. Dead skin cells are also gently buffed away, leaving the complexion healthy and radiant.

Price, Packaging and Quantity..
This cleanser costs $9.99 but I purchased it on beautybay for $12 and you get 147mls of product. The cleanser comes in a clear plastic bottle that has to be squeezed slightly to release the product as the consistency is quite thick. It also has a cap that shuts very securely making it great for travelling.

My thoughts..
Okay so! On one fine monday morning, I reluctantly role out of bed, as usual, and head to the bathroom to you know do what you do in the morning and to my horror I realize that I only have a few uses left of my beloved, 'Beloved' Biore Deep Pore Charcoal Cleanser! I am currently on my fifth or sixth bottle of this stuff so I clearly love it, how did I not notice I was running out alll these days?! Anyways, so I rush to my phone and open up my ebay app trying to place an order and what do I seee? None of the sellers I usually shop this cleanser from have it stocked and the only seller that had it was selling it for 5000lkr! Which is around $30!

So I decided I am NOT paying that much for a cleanser that usually costs me $13-14 and I decided I should try something from local stores. Or you know what?? I'll just use soap on my face like the good 'ol days. But long story short, that DID NOT work. I guess the air was just cleaner back in the day and you didn't need industrial strength cleansers to keep your pores clean and face, breakout free. My skin was begging me for something with charcoal in it and I decided to hop onto my trusty beautybay and ended up finding This cleanser that had a TON of great reviews. And now here's MY review of it!

The cleanser has a floral, powdery, almost 'old lady like' scent to it and has a thick consistency with tiny black particles in it. I have oily to normal skin and as long as the weather isn't crazy hot or humid out, my skin does not get overly greasy but I do breakout.

I rarely break out from trying new makeup or skincare products and my breakouts are mostly hormonal, so when I try a new cleanser and it breaks me out, I know that my skin REEALLY hates the product and well, you guessed right. That's exactly what happened with this cleanser! Not only did I start breaking out on my cheeks and chin, but I never breakout on my forehead and this gave me some very bad whiteheads and bumps there that I am stilll dealing with and it also dried out my skin.

This cleanser has all these amazing ingredients such as Charcoal, Tomato Extract, Jojoba Beads, Salicylic Acid that all help with radiance and keeping the skin blemish free yet it unfortunately did the exact opposite on me. I was even excited about Yes to's claims that this cleanser was 97% natural but sadly that made no difference.

Cons..
Did not stand up to any claims
Fragrance was unpleasant

Would I recommend this?
I would not recommend this at all guys! It has been a while since I disliked a product this strongly but I'm also glad I tried it because now you don't have to if you were thinking about it. That being said, if you use this cleanser and love it, that's great too! Yes To has a large range of skincare products and I want to maybe try out their sheet masks some time.
