Smokey Eyes To Wear With Glasses + makeup tips on how to make your eyes appear larger

4:54 AM

Hey guys!
So I was looking for blog post and tutorial ideas and my dear friend requested I create a look for those of us who wear glasses and I was like YAAS! That's such a great idea! I wear glasses myself and I've definitely noticed how it sometimes makes the eyes look much smaller than they actually are! Which is why I love wearing contacts to things like events because it just makes the makeup side of things a lot easier. That being said, I definitely still wear my glasses quite a bit and follow some or sometimes all of the steps I've listed below to make my eyes appear brighter and wider.

What you'll need:
  • Warm matte brown eyeshadow if you have warm toned skin
  • Or Cool toned matte brown eyeshadow if you have neutral or cool toned skin
  • Shimmery pink eyeshadow
  • Shimmery champagne eyeshadow
  • White or nude pencil liner
  • Eyeliner(liquid or gel)
  • Mascara
  • Eyelash curler
Tip: Prime your t-zone when you wear glasses so that the constant rubbing of the glasses against your skin won't cause your makeup to move around. If you have oily skin use a mattifying primer and a nourishing or hydrating primer if you have dry skin to keep the skin from flaking or peeling. Using a setting spray when you are done with your makeup will also help the makeup to stay in place.

Tutorial
Step 1
Blend the matte brown eyeshadow into your crease.
Tip: Adding a deep brown/taupe-ish contour eyeshadow shade will add depth to your eyelids and in turn make it look bigger.

Step 2
Apply the bright shimmery pink eyeshadow all over your mobile eyelids and blend it into the brown.
Tip: Adding a bright eyeshadow on your eyelids will brighten them and make them look wider and bigger.

Step 3
Pat the shimmery champagne shade into the inner corner of your eyes and blend it into the pink eyeshadow we previously applied. You can use a white eyeshadow for this step if you have a paler skin tone or a more yellow toned gold shimmery eyeshadow if you have a deeper skin tone. <3
Tip: This step also brightens and widens the eyes because glasses can sometimes make your eyes look more close set than they actually are.

Step 4
Blend the same matte brown eyeshadow we previously used, on your lower lashline.
Tip: This creates the look of a shadow just under your eyes and in turn makes your eyes appear bigger. But make sure not to blend it too far down onto your face because this can make you look tired.

Step 5
Line your lower waterline with a nude or white pencil. If you use a white pencil, make sure to blend it out with your finger to make sure it doesn't look too stark and unnatural.

Step 6(defining)
Apply winged eyeliner. Then curl your lashes and apply mascara.
Tip: Curling your eyelashes help so much with opening your eyes. The liner and mascara helps add back that definition that is sometimes lost when wearing glasses.
And that's it my loves! You can even pop on a nice natural pair of falsies like the ardell wispies if you like!
