How has your day been? Today I will be reviewing the famous Nyx Soft Matte Lip Cream in the shade Abu Dhabi! I purchased this shade because it seemed like a beautiful nude shade and I am forever hunting for my perfect peachy nude lipstick! So scroll down to see my thoughts.

What Nyx claims..
Our velvety smooth Soft Matte Lip Cream delivers a burst of creamy color and sets to a stunning matte finish. Surprisingly durable, lightweight and delightfully creamy, it’s no wonder this sweetly scented formula is a NYX fan favorite. 

Price, Packaging and Quantity..
Each lip cream costs $6 and you get a good 8mls of product. The lip cream has simple lipgloss/liquid lipstick like packaging. Although the black velvety cap looks and feels luxurious, I find it gets dirty quickly. Even though I stored it so far away from my powder products. The standard doe foot applicator feels sturdy and spreads product very well on the lips.

My thoughts..
I love the formula of these! It's like a whipped almost mousse like consistency. And you guys!! It smells like VANILLA! Well.. I initially thought they smell like cake batter but later decided it's vanilla haha. It's not an intrusive smell but it definitely lingers for atleast an hour on me. But I don't usually mind fragrance in cosmetic products unless it's straight up perfume.

Let's talk about the shade Abu Dhabi! It's a beautiful nude shade and applies smoothly with zero patchiness! But once again, I've misjudged the shade when trying to purchase a nude shade for me because this is a little too pale. Sigh.. But I feel like it's a stunning nude shade for anyone with light to medium skintones. I line my lips with a warm brown shade and apply this over it and blend it in with my fingers a little bit and then it looks so GOOD!

It's not drying on my lips because it never fully dries on me even though Nyx claims that it sets into a matte finish. It has a satin or slightly matte finish when it's on your lips but it doesn't feel like a matte liquid lipstick(a.k.a. doesn't suck the life out of your lips and make it feel like sandpaper). I wouldn't call this a long lasting lipstick because it moves around like a normal cream, old school, twist up lipstick does and definitely transfers onto your glass but simultaneously feels lightweight. 
Pros..

• Great shade range with 34 shades
• Good pigmentation
• Great formula and not drying
• Good amount of product for a liquid lipstick(8ml)
• Vanilla scented

Cons..

• Doesn't dry down like NYX claims
• Some may not like the fragrance

Would I recommend this?
You should definitely try this out! It's a gorgeous formula that looks satin to matte depending on the texture of your lips but it's not drying at all! For me that's a win win situation! I think the shade Rome will be a great nude shade for my medium dark nc44 skintone. I'm definitely going to give that a shot next time.
